Today we go to the greenhouse. In summer there is not so much to see, all container plants are outside, only the non-placeable plants remain in the greenhouse, tomatoes and sometimes cucumbers and peppers. In recent years, I am moving into making it more cosy in summer by adding plants which need more shelter and warmth. In winter I put them in the conservatory to the house.
Er staat weer een rijtje van mijn favoriete cherry tomaatjes, die heerlijk zoet zijn. Het is ook gezond snoepgoed voor de kleinkinderen.

Alle oude spullen die ik niet (meer) gebruik maar ook niet weg wil doen, vinden hun weg naar de kas, mooie lege blauwe flessen met een zichzelf uitgezaaide lichtblauwe lobelia van vorig jaar en wat varentjes doen het goed. De emaille melkkoker en ketels uit de familie hangen we op.
All old stuff we don't use anymore, find their way to the greenhouse, pretty empty blue bottles with selfsown blue lobelias and some small ferns are an eye catcher. The enamel milk and water boilers are hanging on the bars.

Een kleine collectie bladplanten (kamerplanten) staat tegen de schaduwrijke achterzijde van de kas met in hun midden de jonge uil, door mijn vader uit een stuk boomstam gesneden.
A small collection foliage plants (houseplants) is in the shade in the back of the greenhouse with in the middle the owlet, carved by my father from a piece of treetrunk.
Ongebruikte oude gieters en manden worden ook in de kas opgehangen, ze zijn uit de weg en wanneer ze nodig zijn, kan ik ze zo pakken.
Unused old watering cans and baskets are also hanging in the air, they are out of the way until I need them.

Dit is de Clematis cirrhosa 'Freckles', die in november begon te bloeien tot de laatste bloemetjes in juni. Nu is ze aan het eind van haar Latijn. Een karweitje voor komende week, kort snoeien en de ruiten schoonspuiten, dan kunnen we komende winter weer opnieuw van deze bijzondere Clematis genieten.
This is Clematis cirrhosa 'Freckles', flowering from November to June in the greenhouse. Now she is at the end of her tether. A job for next week, pruning back the Clematis and hosing the windows, then we can enjoy again this special clematis next winter.

Als ik buiten stap, zie ik links de doorgang door de taxushaag (vorige week door F. gesnoeid), naar het grindpad langs de vaart.
When I step outside the greenhouse, I see on the left the passage through the yew hedge (last week p
trimmed by F.) to the gravel path along the canal.
Aan de rechterkant kijk ik naar mijn stukje moerast, dat ook wel een opknapbeurt kan gebruiken, "ja hoor ik kom er aan".
On the right side I see a piece of bog garden, which also can use a facelift, "o yes, I am coming".
Maar zie, laat ik voor me uit kijken en de schoonheid van de roos 'White Wings' tegen een prachtige Hollandse blauwe lucht tot me nemen.
But behold, let me look forward to take the beauty of the rose 'White Wings' against a magnificent Dutch blue sky.
And the Hydrangeas, dried up too quickly by the hot sun. But don't worry there will be more new flowers.
